Varun Dhawan is aware that there will be comparisons between Govinda's 'Coolie No.1' and his adaptation

Varun Dhawan is all set to collaborate with his filmmaker father David Dhawan for a modern adaptation of Govinda starrer 'Coolie No. 1'. The actor recently cleared the air by revealing that while the screenplay of the film will remain the same, the film will be different from the original with many significant changes.
Varun clarified that it isn't a remake, but an adaptation. Varun also said that he has not seen such a wholesome entertainer in the last 15 years.
As for comparisons that are to come his way, Varun said that he is aware there will be comparisons and that is why he has taken it up.

While the original film starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles, the adaptation will see Sara Ali Khan stepping into Karisma's shoes as the female lead.
