Varanasi: the grandson of Bismillah Khan wants to be present at the PM Modi application
VARANASI: Nasir Abbas Bismilla, the grandson of shehnai maestro
late Ustad Bismillah, wishes to present shehnai recital in honour
of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his nomination filing in
Varanasi for 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The
Prime Minister is expected to file his nomination paper on April
Expressing his wish to be present during nomination filing, Nasir on Friday wrote a letter to Modi. "I am hopeful for a positive response. I also wish to play on shehnai for Modi ji on the occasion if he permits," he told TOI over phone from New Delhi. He said that it would be a great pleasure for him if he is allowed to welcome PM Modi with shehnai recital.
"I want to be present when you will file your nomination from Varanasi. It will be a memorable and harmonious message for me. I would like to remind you that I presented a shehnai of my grandfather, which was dedicated by you a year back. It is kept in the Trade Facilitation Centre and Craft Museum, Badalalpur”, he wrote in his letter to the PM. "I am confident that the PM would invite me to his nomination ceremony," said Nasir adding that he has great respect for Modi and his works for the nation.
