Remove fans from government agencies, it's YSRCP ’ s election symbol: TDP to election officials
AMARAVATI: Election officials at Ramakuppam mandal in Chittoor, the
home town of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, were stunned when a TDP
delegation filed a complaint seeking immediate removal of ceiling
fans from all government offices. The reason: The fan is opposition
YSRC’s election symbol.
TDP leaders were provoked as the officials had removed portraits of Naidu from all government offices citing the election code. Taken aback after going through the content, local tehsildar Janardhan Setti promised the TDP delegation to send a report to the district election authority and take an appropriate action.
Local TDP leader Jayasankar, who led the team, said they have requested the officials to follow the model code of conduct scrupulously. “All the statues are being covered with masks and portraits of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu were removed from the public offices. The rule should also be applicable to ceiling fans in the offices as there is chance of people visiting the offices getting influenced,” said Manohar another TDP activist.
