2 positive for swine flu in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: Two patients have been confirmed of swine flu infection in the district on Saturday. According to health department officials, 10 samples were sent to Delhi for confirmation, out of which two were tested positive with swine flu, while the test result of four are awaited.

In the first case, a 55-year-old resident of Shastri Nagar, who was admitted to a private hospital since December 28, was found with swine flu symptoms. “The patient, Lallan Prasad, is on recovery path. In another case, 50-year old Rita Choudhary was tested positive for swine flu and she is also recuperating in a private hospital,” said GK Mishra, district malaria officer.

Meanwhile, the chief medical officer has issued notices to two private hospitals for failing to report cases of suspected swine flu.
