Zen Cruises starts from April 2019
MUMBAI: After the launch of a domestic cruise -- Aangriya, that
started operations between Mumbai and Goa since October 2018, the
Mumbai port will witness the Indian international cruiseliner --
Zen Cruises --
operating to and fro destinations not only in India but abroad such
as Singapore and Dubai from April this year.
The first cruise of the company named Karnika, designed as per the needs of Indian passengers, will operate initially to Goa, Chennai, Vizag from Mumbai between April and May. In June, same cruise will operate between Chennai and Singapore, Mumbai and Colombo via Kochi, Manglore and Goa, and between Mumbai and Dubai. The per day per passenger base fare, that includes accommodation and meal, will be around Rs 10,000.
According to Jurgen Bailom, president and CEO of Zen Cruises the second cruise will add to their fleet by this year end or early next year. He said the the cruises will offer Indian vegetarian and Jain food besides Indian street food and other delicacies. MbPT chairman Sanjay Bhatia said the addition of bigger cruises will offer more travelling options for the tourists. State Transport secretary Ashish Kumar Singh said various demands of the cruiseliners regarding different concessions were under consideration to promote the industry that is opening up in the country in a big way.
